Weather
South Carolina is occasionally known to have hurricanes from time to time. The National Weather Service issues two types of alerts during periods of severe storms. The first alert is a Hurricane Watch. A Hurricane Watch means conditions are favorable for the formation of a Hurricane. The second alert is a Hurricane Warning. A Hurricane Warning is issued when a Hurricane is predicted to make land fall. Emergency broadcasts are activated during a Hurricane Warning. Upon hearing the being notified by TV or radio you should seek shelter. For more information on hurricanes please read the NOAA Hurricane Preparedness Guide.
